For anyone who hasn't heard of the Eee PC before (where have you been hiding?),
let me give you the low down.

The Eee PC is a very small machine measuring 225 x 165 x 35mm (WxDxH) and
weighing around 1kg. that puts it well and truly into the ultra-portable sector,
being lighter than even a Sony TZ31MN, and smaller too.

This is a machine built to be used on the move, without the need to make
much space for it in your bag. The Eee PC comes in two colours, pearlescent
white, like the one I'm reviewing here and black - yes, that does sound
very similar to Apple's MacBook range, but that's most definitely
where the similarities end.

nice one! mura na yan para sa specs na ito:

multi-touchpad...
1GB memory- upgradeable din to...
intel centrino 900MHz - ok na to...
12GB or 20GB of storage...
1024 x600 pixel display
wifi
vga out
and sd card reader
web cam
6 cell 3.5 hour battery

ayos na ayos to pg portability ang paguusapan...sympre you can buy laptops with higher specs than this by just adding a little $$ pero malalaki at mabibigat yun! hehehe eto pwede mong ii-strap lang sa katawan mo...

try to install ubuntu linux on this machine or just buy the linux version...para maiba naman...kase parang nakakauyam na ang M$, personal opinion ko lng po hehehe...

try nyo lang...marami ka pwedeng iinstall na opensource software sa linux...

Dell notebook cost 1K more, pero tama si Spidey, speaking of portability, ASUS rocks!

I remember last time, nasa Shun Tak ako, kita ko yung isang chick, nakatayo lang sya, nag
internet using this handy notebook on one hand.  thumbrt

usability wise, nde na malayo ang diprensya ng M$ sa linux...mas magaganda pa nga ang gui ng linux distros ngayon e...sanayan lang yan ika nga...

pero i would say mas marami kang magagawa sa linux...pwede ka magpatakbo ng webserver, database server, ftp server, file server at kung anik anik pagn server sa isang box lang...if you're techy enough, you'll gonna love this kase nde mo na kailangan bumili pa ng mga apps para lang mag practice! imagine, if you're a web developer/designer and would like to run/edit your work diretso sa webserver, nde ka na mamu-mrublema...

multi user, multi platform at multi desktop pa...you can do other things (hide apps) outside your active desktop...so nde na kailangan ng bossing alert hehehe...

madaming free apps for photo/video editing...kung gusto mo mgpractice ng animation meron ding opensource software na magagamit mo for that....although pwede ka ding bumili ng pirated CDs sa pinas or china for windows!!

tapos if you're having fun with like, getting access from a secured hotspot (wifi access) you can easily install programs that can hack your way in...of course you can also do this in windowz-based system pero iba yung level of support na makukuha mo sa opensource community...logically speaking, mas maraming nagtetest ng apps mas madali makita ang mga bugs at mas madali makagawa ng fix...mas maraming gumagamit, mas reliable...hehehe

ilan lang po yan sa pwede mong gawin sa linux...pero sympre kanya kanyang taste yan...if you're much comfortable working with Windowz and would not want to explore other stuff then you may opt to buy the windowz version...
