Mami History

Q.  Who invented mami?

A.  Food historians say it’s Ma Mon Luk, a Cantonese immigrant who popularized the dish in Chinatown in 1918. The term itself is believed to be a combination of his surname, Ma, and mi, the Chinese word for “noodle”.

Ooops! Spaghetti did not originate in Italy as most people think. It was imported from China in the 13th century by the Venetian explorer Marco Polo.
