Ang 'pardon' ay pardon lang sa mga maimpluwensya at makapangyarihang tao.  Kung ikaw ay ordinaryong mamamayan at nahuling nangupit nang konting pera para pantawid sa gutom, pardon ka sa Munti.

This will set on the record as one of the notorious presidential pardons. Anong national unity ang pinagsasasabi nila? Pabor sa pabor lang naman yan eh. Siyempre may kailangan si GMA sa oposisyon.

After the two recent blunders by the GMA government - ZTE deal and the Malacanang distribution of P500K, lalong minadali ni GMA ang agreement kay Erap. Part of the deal is for Erap not to run in any public office once he get out. Bakit? Si Erap lang ba talaga ang magiging threat sa kanya? O baka naman pag nabalik ang sino mang oposisyon sa presidential post, she expects to receive the same treatment in the future.

Mahaba pa ang 2010 for GMA to finish her term and at this stage, kumukulo na yung impeachment proceedings. Si Jose De Venicia Jr, nawala na sa alliance niya. Sino pa ang susunod?

If we will go back to our political history, Marcos did the same thing with Ninoy but not in terms of pardon. Ferdie believed then that the only threat from the opposition was Ninoy. So he sent Ninoy in the US (health problem kuno) to the condition that he should never, ever comeback in the Philippine soil. But the plan of FM backfired when Ninoy decided to comeback...and the rest was another colourful history in the Philippine politics.

For this kind of political tactics - to ask favour from your opposition, I really dont know if this will really work. Lumalabas na nga lang talaga, 'desperate housewife' na si GMA. 

Even in the US, if we remember, former pres. Richard Nixon received a highly controversial pardon from President Gerald Ford. But the US people charged that the pardon was part of an agreement reached with Ford when Nixon left office due to Watergate scandal. Ford, however, may have also written his own demise in politics. Many believe the Nixon pardon was the reason he lost the 1976 election to Jimmy Carter.

Kahit wala tayong bolang kristal I could see GMA writing her own end, politically speaking. Sabagay, "history repeats itself," sabi nga nang lolo ko.
