Hi, i am a newbie here. Decided to join this forum to seek help. Me and my friends (3 of us-all first timers in HK!) are sked to go to HK this October. Wer sked to fly Oct 13 and return on Oct 16. We are in search of a budget accomodation and hope for any recommendation from you. I've browsed through a lot of sites already (nkklito s dami) all are claiming they are the best. Can someone help me identify a cheap yet decent hotel to stay? (malinis n tulugan at clean private CR lng ayos na.)I've read quite a lot, not-so-good reviews about hostels in chungking and mirador mansions. So i hope you can recommend me a place apart from those that are found in the 2 above mentioned sites.

Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Hello chinkeet!

Here's the recommended cheap hostels

Bridal Tea House - http://www.hkchhotel.com/hotel.php
Sun Kong Hostel - http://www.sunkong.com.hk
Yes Inn - http://www.yesinn.com

I suggest you stay on Kowloon side (Yau Ma Tei, Jordan or Tsim Tsa Tsui)
where most of the attractions and night markets are located.

Don't forget to visit CityGate mall in Tung Chung in Lantau near airport (by MTR)
where most branded outlets are located in one roof.

Hi chinkeet!

its good you come here in PHK. We've seen
a lot of our kabayans entering HK for the first
time and didn't have clue on where to stay and
go places.

Since you have 4 days trip, I suggest you
hop to Macau for a day, for additional experience
and thrill. Additional cost for ferry to Macau, is
hk$300 return ticket plus hk$50-100 for meal.
maghapong budget na yun. One hour lang
ang travel time to Macau.

There are also plenty of attractions in Macau
and all can be reached by free hotels (casino operators)
shuttle bus.

additional pics para sa facebook din yun!  o di ba?

Cant let that pass.. will make sure that the next time i see its pix, i'm already in it.  Tongue Thanks for the recos tonychel!  cant wait to share the accounts of my HK trip here.

yeah..but recent happenings (e.g. Congressman singson being apprehended for supposed drug trafficking, A former policeman's hostage drama killing HK nationals..) turns the excitement to worry.
Nkktakot.bka kami ang gantihan ng mga kababayan nila. I just hope they wont resort to that..
At bka dn mghigpit ang immigration s HK s lhat ng Pinoys n pupunta dun..*really saddening*
