Hi Guys,

I am also considering to move to HK from Singapore given the offer that I have now..
But I am still confused whether to accept or turn down the offer so sana po matulungan nyo ako by providing inputs to my questions below. Salamat in advance :)

1) Im being offered 470K annually, how much tax could I expect sa salary na to?
and say I will start work on October, when can I expect to pay the tax? coz the HR told me that December 2017 pa raw ako magstart magbayad ng tax. And if that is true, will that include the provisionary tax already? is it true that the provisionary tax is almost the same amount as the income tax?

2) I've been reading that the flat rental could range from 10 - 15K monthly, is it fully furnished already? and talaga bang 2 months deposit and 1 month advance normally ang contract?

3) May website po ba for Filipinos wherein nakakapagpost sila ng ad para sa mga nagpapa flat sharing? if there is, pashare naman po... or how do I get in touch with Filipinos who are offering their place for flat sharing?

Salamat po nang marami.. God bless us all :)

Tax...estimate 1 month salary or less...depende if single, married, dependents...etc.
sample computation:
http://www.ird.gov.hk/eng/pdf/pam61e.pdf
month of may usually issue ITR so yeah...tagal ka pa need magbayad. Yes, need to pay provisionary tax.

Flat...mga ganun. mostly not fully furnish.
yes, 2 month deposit and 1 month advance and 1 year contract.
Unless maghanap ka ng service apartment na fully furnish at no 1 year contract.

meron siguro flat sharing pero di uso like in SG. you're lucky if you find one :)

forgot to mention, you still have to pay half a month rent as agency fee if sa agency ka kumuha ng apartment rental.  ;)

Hi,

Singit lang. What is Provisionary Tax? Iba pa ba yun sa Income Tax? Thanks!

And, di ba, halos every year naman may tax reduction yung HK? Parang nabasa ko last year 75% ang reduction, tama ba? Tuwing kelan naiimplement yun? Thanks!

Provisionary tax is the estimated tax for the next coming year which you also have to pay for the same year as your income tax.
In layman terms, binabayaran mo tax mo in advance. Let's say tax ko based sa gross income ko is 20k. so babayaran ko in total is (20k-tax reduction)+ 20k hkd. Tax reduction is not mandatory afiak, it depends sa financial secretary.

Thank you!

Gets ko na.

Ang laki pala sa first year. Parang doble. Ouch. Applicable to sa lahat ng expat ba? I mean, mga local kaya may ganito din pag first time nila magwork?

Pero sa second year ko, magababayad pa rin ako? Bakit may ganun pa?  :P

So parang sa apartment may 1 advance ganun? Huhuhuhuh.

I see, ikakaltas naman pala sa second year.  ;)

Kelangan palang paghandaan ang babayaran kong tax next year. Halos 1 month salary x2!!  :-[ Tama ba? Since hindi pa applicable yung Tax Reduction for the provisionary tax.
